Petunia
This little girl was living in the shelter for months. I originally met her in August when I drove to MO to meet rescue friends that I had been working with via the net for a year.
|
She didn't care for the resident Panda's Pets mascots that I brought with me so I couldn't commit to bringing her home to my brand new rescue. Fast forward two more months. Feeling worse with each passing day, she had to get out of there. We finally were able to secure transport to the big city in MN. Expecting months of rehab and training, she came to live with the same dogs she growled and snarled at while she was in the shelter. After a few false starts, she settled right in to the posh life of memory foam mattresses and basic obedience. A couple of meet and greets that were not a love connection, the stars aligned for her FurrEver family to see her profile. Her new dad just happened to be in town for work when her new mom saw her picture online. She ran through the bars of the fence to meet her new dad and picked him over me for snuggling while we talked. What a little traitor!! Scrambling to get a home visit done so they could take her home, more fate - someone else from the same hometown applied for a different dog. Trusting these two families to do each other's inspections, we were able to get two great dogs into great new homes.

Two little boys watched impatiently out the window for dad to drive almost three hours to bring Petunia home. She is their first family dog and she loves them all as much as they love her. Congrats Petunia, and try to stay warm!!

TinkerToy
Tinker Toy - Was dumped at a rural shelter's front gate when the shelter director was there. It was 100 degrees that day and they put him in a plastic tub with the lid on (NO HOLES!!) and dog food on top so he couldn't get out.... Pomeranian puppy 3-4 months old. About 4 pounds.... after a lot of great applications that were not quite right for this little peanut, TinkerToy found the perfect FurrEver momma to live with!!

TinkerBella
Fawn colored Great Dane, only 7 months old and lost her home to divorce. Severely underweight, frightened of loud noises or sudden movements. This girl's rehab included socializing, starting her teenager basic obedience, reassurance and lots of high quality food delivered in a restful setting. She made a great couple fall in love with her, and has even suckered them into letting her on the couch! I can't wait to see updates of this girl grown, fat and happy! <3

Nola
This purebreed Boston Terrier was dumped by the puppy mill she pumped out babies at for five years. They started breeding her before she was even done growing so her adult weight is only 11 lbs. (average BT is twice that). She was Heartworm positive, and teeth rotting out of her mouth (all those puppies steal the nutrients and calcium from their teeth) Finally was healthy enough for spay surgery but she was too crabby to stay adopted by anyone else so she is enjoying life with her now FurrEver brother as Panda's Pets mascots. <3
